For most people, playing a round of golf at a world-class course is a dream they can aspire to. For others, it's a lifeline - a wish come true for someone who may not otherwise ever have the opportunity to do so.
The Round of a Lifetime Foundation was established in 2010 to preserve the memory and passion of Andrew Maciey, who passed away from Familial Dilated Cardiomyopathy at the age of 24. His surviving friends and family fondly recall spending time on the golf course with Andrew and established the Foundation to create lasting memories for others with congenital heart disease through the game he loved so much.
Round of a Lifetime exists to promote heart health and enrich the lives of congenital heart patients through world-class golf experiences.
The Foundation holds a major annual golf tournament, rallies for the American Heart Association's Philadelphia Heart Walk, and hosts other assorted fundraisers, golf outings, and dinners throughout the year in support of its mission. The Foundation, made up of a nine member Board of Directors and a Senior Advisory Board, boasts a team of passionate, experienced, and motivated leaders who will see that Andrew's legacy lives proudly through the Foundation's endeavors. The Board welcomes sponsors, partners and advisors of all sizes and backgrounds to help achieve the goal of creating everlasting memories between individuals suffering from heart conditions and their loved ones.
The Round of a Lifetime Foundation received tax-exempt, public charity status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under section 501(c)(3) effective May 20, 2015 and donors can deduct contributions made to the foundation under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 170. The Employer Identification Number to verify the foundation’s status and to file for deductions on federal taxes is 47-3921930. The Foundation recommends that all donors speak with a tax professional about deductions on their taxes.
Round of a Lifetime Core Values
The Round of a Lifetime Foundation was originally created and will always be in existence to preserve the legacy of Andrew Maciey.
The Foundation will always think, act, and operate in a manner that is consistent with its mission statement.
We believe that family and work come before Foundation responsibilities. We all have limited time and resources, so the organization will operate in a manner that is consistent with this principle.
No member of the board of directors will ever use the Foundation for his or her own personal benefit.
We will conduct business in a way that is honest, fair, and respectful to all with whom we communicate.
We will be creative, adventurous, and open-minded.
We will not be afraid to put pen to paper for 1 hour per week.
We will be frugal in our operations and generous in our charity.
We will respect differences of opinions amongst team members and take advantage of different perspectives.
We will never lose the personal connection we develop with each Round of a Lifetime recipient.
